About

I have always been passionate about creating beautiful spaces for both humans and nature. From a young age, I expressed interest in interior design, and I began working in the industry at age 19. In 2018, I changed my career path from interior design to horticulture. The visualization and space planning skills I gained from interior design have been very useful in landscape design!

I have worked in three different USDA zones (Central Texas, Chicago, Los Angeles) and I have an associates degree in Horticulture. After multiple years of working for nurseries, a tropical plant greenhouse and finally as a Conservatory Gardener at the San Antonio Botanical Garden, I decided to found Hoy Gardens.

The focus of Hoy Gardens is not only to create beautiful and unique gardens, but also to work with the changing environment for a better ecosystem. I have an extensive knowledge of native plants, and utilize them whenever possible, often incorporating native plants into more traditional garden styles. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing nature return, and it happens almost immediately after planting a garden.
